Loss Adjustment Services Offered by BPO Technical
At BPO Technical, we offer a wide variety of first- and third-party loss adjustment services. We have years of experience with commercial and residential catastrophe loss adjustment as well as third-party casualty, appraisal and umpire, and accounting services.
Commercial Property
Our commercial property loss adjustment services include claim investigation on all types of damaged commercial property. Our services are offered to insurance companies and corporations with self insured retentions throughout the United States and Canada. Our employees are widespread and highly trained in both loss adjustment and dispute resolution.
Residential Property
We offer similar services for residential property claims as we do for commercial. These include all first-party claims made for damages to residential property. Typically, one of our loss adjusters will visit the site of the damage to ensure that the loss has been contained and properly preserved so that adequate evidence can be recorded. Then other evidence and documents will be gathered before our loss adjusters make their report to the insurance company to recommend or decline a payout.
Trial Preparation
Many people don’t realize that an attorney doesn’t always gather the evidence necessary to conduct a full trial. The attorney is in charge of assembling the gathered evidence in a coherent and persuasive manner and other persons gather the data. In an insurance trial, a loss adjuster can be an attorney’s most valuable asset since they are normally initially in charge of putting together vast amounts of evidence and data to help prove or disprove insurance claims. A highly trained and experienced loss adjuster, like those who work for BPO Technical, can assist the attorney in putting together a thoroughly documented case for the attorney and provide invaluable testimony during a trial when required.
Appraisal Under Policy
As a part of our appraisal services, BPO Technical can act as an appraiser for an insurance company when the monetary value of a loss is disputed. Our loss adjusters are highly trained and can easily help identify the true value of damaged property so that disputes can be fairly settled for both the insured and insurer. Our experience in handling claims adds to our ability to being a qualified appraiser. While most of our appraisals are handled for insurance companies, it is important to understand that a good and qualified appraiser is to be unbiased and neutral in the appraisal evaluation. The competent appraiser does not take direction from the insured or insurance company that could sway his opinion. The ethics of the appraisal process is to develop a totally unbiased opinion of the loss and damage. With this in mind, BPO will handle appraisals for both the insured and the insurance company. While we will not handle claims as a public adjuster, we will handle appraisals for insured’s simply because of the nature of the appraisal process as being totally unbiased in opinion.
Umpire Services
Appraisal under the policy requires the use of an Umpire. Our experienced staff provides Umpire services when requested. Tom Powell is a certified wind Umpire and has served as Umpire in many appraisals. Tom Powell has the unique ability to review the facts and work with the two appraisers to reach an agreeable appraisal award and outcome. Tom works hard to obtain a three party award, however, if a three party award is not possible, Tom has the ability to make the tough decisions to develop a two party award when needed.
